SONIC TABOO

SONIC TABOO is a New York City-based instrumental stoner biker trio formed in 2018. Drawing heavy inspiration from motorcycle culture, the band aims to create the ultimate soundtrack for a bike ride. In 2020, they teamed up with the Polish label Interstellar Smoke Records to release their eponymous debut album.

The album was well-received by the stoner rock scene, amassing a significant number of views on YouTube channels such as SMOD and MrDoom, as well as great reviews on podcasts, magazines, and radio. SONIC TABOO has since shared stages with heavy stoner acts from across the country, performing at major festivals like DesertFest New York,  Indian Larry Block Party, Kustom Kulture Fest, Long Island Sludge Doom & Metal Fest, LIC Kulture Fest and Stoner Biker Fest in the NY/NJ area.

Their sophomore album, KIND OF VENOM, was released in 2022 on vinyl by Interstellar Smoke Records and on cassette by Evil Noise Recordings. Like their debut album, it was recorded and produced by Andre Deko in NYC, mixed and mastered by Thiago Trosso in London UK, and features cover art by Matt Wilkins. 

It boasts fourteen vibrant instrumental stoner tracks that take listeners on a journey through rough, gasoline-scented roads and peaceful, psychedelic soundscapes, all while capturing the thrill of riding on two wheels.
