Mackenzie Leighton
Mackenzie Leighton
Mackenzie Leighton was raised in a small town in Maine in the United States and has been playing music and singing since she was 4 years old. She started with classical piano and eventually transitioned to jazz, followed by forays with the flute, the trumpet, and the guitar. After studying in New York City and playing music with two different bands, she moved to Paris and released her self-titled debut EP in December 2017. She has played numerous concerts in Paris and went on to play her first solo tour in Italy in October 2018. Her style has been compared to that of Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker, and Australian media Savage Thrills notes that "Mackenzie Leighton is what Indie Folk music has been waiting for, for decades. Listening to her music is a shelter."
The Ben Mizrach Quartet
The Ben Mizrach Quartet
Driven by the tight-knit rhythm section of drummer Kabir Adhiya-Kumar, bassist Max Miller and pianist George Behrakis and propelled by the cutting sound of alto saxophonist Ben Mizrach, The Ben Mizrach Quartet delivers a nuanced and compelling take on a contemporary jazz sound. Drawing influences from 60's bop to the Robert Glasper Experiment, The Ben Mizrach Quartet firmly places one foot in the tradition of the jazz of the old, and one in the future of jazz to come. Ben's full time project, The Blank Quartet, is based in Boston, and its first album 'Canvas' is set to release this coming winter.
