His modern take on R&B and distinctive vocals and exclusive songwriting creates an experience that audiences appreciate.

Growing up, Jalen’s Sunday morning chores involved cleaning the house to the soundtracks of Mary J Blidge, Destiny’s Child, Boyz II Men, and Brandy which helped shaped his ear and generated his passion for the R&B genre. He is the son of a bodyguard in the entertainment industry, Jalen’s father, Christopher Rance was Jalen’s earliest musical influence as he recalls his father telling him countless stories about some of his favorite artists which only fueled his passion even more.

Receiving his first vocal lessons at age 14, Rance has since been committed to perfecting his craft. Writing his own songs is not something Rance ever takes for granted, the singer-songwriter believes that performing his own songs gives his sound an unique edge.

Jalen Rance has performed at venues including The Bitter End, The Middle East Cambridge, Digi Fest NYC, Hard Rock Cafe and more.
