Lou Reed's Birthday Celebration
In honor of the great Lou Reed, we're celebrating his birthday with a tribute to all of his hits and more, including The Velvet Underground. Featuring live performances by an all-star lineup of special guests. If you're a true New Yorker you won't want to miss this.
American music producer, born 1957 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Born: April 20, 1953 in Milwaukee, USA. Arriving from Milwaukee with a saxophone on his knee, James (Siegfried) Chance/White/Black quickly became the linchpin of the budding New-York No Wave movement, appearing in Teenage Jesus And The Jerks with Lydia Lunch. More than any of his contemporaries, Chance turned harsh, abrasive music into an art form; at one time or another, almost everyone of any importance on the New York art-rock scene was in his band.
June Pierce is an American artist, singer-songwriter and musician. They are the front person of the New York based rock band EGO and The Digital Age.
Soraia epitomizes raw power, unrelenting energy, chaos, and freedom. ZouZou Mansour and Travis Smith are the core of this group -- their songwriting rooted in early garage rock with strong dynamics and melody -- and their live show: frenetic and intensely interactive. ZouZou has been referred to as "a true mix of Iggy Pop and Joan Jett" onstage. They have toured throughout the US, playing the dingiest corner dive bar, to the most massive amphitheaters. Their career includes venue highlights playing their hometown stadium, Wells Fargo Center as supporting act, as well as opening for national bands at The Rave in Milwaukee.
