Joey Wit & The Definition
Joey Wit & The Definition
As he sings in his song, Throwing Stones, “...I’m a son to the North and a brother to the South”, Joey Wit’s story is just as unique and original as his sound. As a former professional athlete, it would seem Joe dedicated the majority of his life and childhood to the game of baseball. However, music was just as important as athletics in his upbringing. Growing up in a household with parents whose record collection included everything from Chet Atkins, Duane Eddy and Elvis Presley to Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, and The Rolling Stones, it’s easy to see how the Connecticut native gravitated towards rock and roll. After spending several years in the American Southeast (Durham, NC) working on his musical craft, Wit returned home to New England in 2015 and started recruitment for his rock and roll band, now known as The Definition (Clay Selmont-Guitar, Guido Falivene-Bass, Nate Manware-Drums, Nathanael Oakes-Keys). Drawing on inspiration from countless sources such as the Beatles, Radiohead, Wilco, Doves and Ryan Adams; Joey Wit and The Definition offer an innovative and energetic approach to rock and roll with a little something every music fan can appreciate.
Cosmos Sunshine
Cosmos Sunshine
At the age of fourteen, seeking a deeper and more expressive creative outlet, Cosmos Sunshine began playing guitar. By fifteen he was writing his own material and playing professionally; performing in as many bars, clubs & high school auditoriums near his rural Connecticut home, as would have him.

After a brief stint at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Cosmos moved to New York City and began his tenure as lead guitarist, songwriter and bandleader for the 1990's juggernauts, Cherokee Sex Workshop and Walkinbird. The latter’s eponymous debut album was produced by the legendary Warren Haynes, who became a mentor to Cosmos, teaching him the ways of songwriting, studio production and guitar wizardry. Those were important lessons, which still serve him today.
Since that time he has been an active solo performer and the front man for the bands The Cosmos Sunshine Butterfly Effect, Los Lotharios, The Cosmos Sunshine Band and Dan Patch.

In total, he has amassed a discography of four full length albums and four EPs and has played some of the best venues in New York City (Brooklyn Bowl, Irving Plaza, Joe's Pub, CBGB, (le) Poisson Rouge, The Wetlands Preserve, The Nightingale Bar) and toured nationally (opening for such greats as Gov't Mule, Blues Traveler, The Spin Doctors, Johnny Winter, Lenny Kravitz and many, many more).
He continues to follow the muse, wherever it may lead....

"A drummer since I was young.
Now I play guitar and whisper into microphones at small venues. I take a lot of inspiration from The Last Shadow Puppets, Elliot Smith, Hippo Campus, Cage the Elephant, Death Cab For Cutie, Father John Misty, and The Strokes, so if you like those guys you might find my stuff listenable. I am grateful for anybody and everybody willing to listen, so look out for show announcements and lets all enjoy the easy side of life together."
