Dodies
Dodies
Indie garage rock duo from Southern Israel.

Yoni Avittan and Ran Aronson started playing together at the age of fourteen. They formed a Hebrew punk rock trio named WeSuck, which gained a fan base in Israel and performed all over the country for seven years.

Two years ago, Yoni and Ran formed ‘Dodies’ and changed their writing and singing from Hebrew to English to reach a broader range of fans. Yoni writes the lyrics, plays guitar and sings lead vocals. Ran is the drummer, backup vocalist and took over the bass by adding a keyboard, while he drums with one hand.

In 2016, Dodies independently recorded, produced and mixed their first album "It's One Hell of a Ride" in Ran’s bedroom. Since the album's release, the band has performed throughout Israel and Paris, France.

They shot and edited a video of their song ‘Suburban Nights’ (posted on YouTube) and established their reputation in Israel as a serious English language alt-rock band.

Dodies' songs confront feelings of depression, alienation and rage with heavy riffs and catchy melodies, much like Nirvana, Green Day and Smashing Pumpkins before them projecting their angst through their lyrics and music.

Now Dodies are in America to record at the renowned Orb Studio in Austin Texas. Performers including Grammy Winner Chance the Rapper, AVICCI, Justin Bieber, Skrillex and Third Eye Blind, are just a few of the many, many clients of Orb Studios. The studio was created to encourage, inspire and excel and Dodies are the next addition to the already impressive lineup of performers who have recorded there.

While in the states the duo will be performing in clubs and venues in Austin, San Antonio, Houston and Dallas. This is a show not to be missed! Friend us on FB for updates. This trip to the states is limited from March to May, but we will definitely be back!
