The Stilettos were a ground breaking rock band comprised, over the years, of some of NY's most notable players in 70's rock'n roll - including Debbie Harry, Chris Stein, Cheetah Chrome, Walter Lure, Billy Rath, Owen Swenson, Alter Ego, Fast Eddie Gentile, and a handful of other great musicians and writers. The band was founded and lead by Elda Gentile (aka Elda Stiletto) initially with a 3 piece female fronted lineup. Eventually, Elda was a solo lead with 2 back up singers but the band was always a full on rock'n roll band. The 1976 version of the Stilettos included Scheebo Pampelonia on drums. The Punk Trampolene album recorded in '76 features production by Rick Derringer, and several different guitarists and bass players. Tish & Snookie of the Sic Fucks are on backups on several songs. Elda Stiletto did a great deal of the lyric and songwriting. "Let there Be Pain" was written by James Wynbrandt of the Miamis.

Jesse Malin (DJ Set)
Jesse Malin (DJ Set)
Already a veteran of the NYC hardcore scene by the time he was a teenager, Jesse Malin first rose to fame with the influential punk band D Generation, a group Rolling Stone called "the best thing to happen to New York noise in the Nineties." Malin traded in his electric for an acoustic in 2002, though, shedding his skin and embarking on an acclaimed solo career with his Ryan Adams-produced debut, ‘The Fine Art of Self Destruction.’ Hailed by Uncut as “an instant classic,” the record was stripped-down, raw, and intimate, earning comparisons to Neil Young and Tom Waits for its ragged, poetic beauty. In the decade-and-a-half that followed, Malin would go on to blur the lines between singer-songwriter and punk rocker with a string of similarly celebrated solo albums, including his most recent back-to-back releases, ‘Outsiders’ and ‘New York Before The War.’ Malin has recorded with Bruce Springsteen and Green Day, performed on The Tonight Show, Conan, and Letterman, and shared stages with everyone from The Replacements and The Hold Steady to Bob Weir and The Gaslight Anthem. A prolific writer and relentless road warrior, he continues to circle the globe with his band and is currently completing work on his seventh studio album, a collaboration with American roots icon Lucinda Williams.

If you've never lived in NY, you might not be that hip to the WALDOS, but just fifteen or so years ago, they were one of the most entertaining and authentic in-person rocknroll bands on the planet. This aging flash-city-rebel can still vividly recall when a Waldos performance was a big event, something to look forward to, when all the Babylonian cognoscenti were packed sardine tight with bozo-red lips abuzz with talk of Johnny sightings (shooting up in the girls restroom) and whether or not Thunders or Keef or somebody were supposed to show up later. It used to be fun.
Diane Gentile and the Gentle Men
Diane Gentile and the Gentle Men
Diane Gentile, currently has her own band called Diane and The Gentle Men, featuring Colin Brooks (Hurricane Bells), Jason Victor (The Dream Syndicate) and Matt Basile (ex-Mother Feather).

Playing shows to full houses in venues such as Rockwood Music Hall and Berlin in downtown Manhattan, the band soon ended up in a cool new studio built in an old firehouse in Redhook Brooklyn, called Atomic, where Interpol and Mark Ronson had recently recorded. Steve Wynn agreed to produce this first EP to be released through Velvet Elk/One Little Indian Records (Bjork, Dead Heavens, Twilight Singers).

The A-side, "Motorcycle" "was inspired by strumming a warn in 1957 Gibson drinking a glass of white wine and thinking about one of the new local heroes in town, who plays in a couple of bands, Threats/Drowners. B- side "Boyfriend" and bonus track "Wasted Word" were blasted through fast and loose in that instant one-day session.

The record was mixed by Clif Norell, (R.E.M., The Replacements, Bruce Springsteen) and the other tracks mixed by Merle Chornuk (Ryan Adams, Nels Cline), the owner of Atomic Studios.

With this first EP behind her, Diane began opening for acclaimed artists: Richard Lloyd (Television), Steve Wynn, Jesse Malin, Tommy Stinson, Jason Darling, Laura Cantrell and more.

The "Motorcycle" single was chosen by Little Steven for Little Steven's Underground Garage for "Coolest Song" program whereby the song was played in heavy rotation that lastest many weeks. The B-side "Girlfriend" was also featured.
The video has over 1000 views and the song is constantly hot on Shazam.

Diane and the Gentle Men just completed recording "Little Things" and "Perfect People", the new digital 45 they will release in November. The full album hits in January.

Steve Conte (New York Dolls, Willy DeVille, Michael Monroe)

“Steve Conte is one of the best kept secrets of the music business - but hopefully his new album will fix that.”
- Steve Lillywhite (Producer; Rolling Stones, Johnny Thunders, XTC, U2)

The NYC based "triple-threat" (guitarist/singer/songwriter) Steve Conte is an artist you've probably heard many times without even realizing it.

As a solo artist and with his bands; Company Of Wolves, Crown Jewels, The Contes & The Crazy Truth, his songs, voice & guitar riffs have been in the public's consciousness since 1990; on major radio stations, MTV, feature films, television programs & anime series. His albums burn with raw, passionate rock 'n' roll and his live shows blend soulful-singing, story-telling songs and blinding guitar playing. You might call it, "Americana With Attitude."

Besides a rich solo career, Conte is a former member of the legendary New York Dolls and has also recorded/toured with Willy DeVille, Billy Squier, Paul Simon, Peter Wolf & Wille Nile. Steve is currently lead guitarist/songwriter/backing vocalist for legendary Hanoi Rocks frontman, Michael Monroe.

His most recent solo release, International Cover-Up is a collection of songs written by some of his favorites; Tom Waits, John Lennon, Willy DeVille, Jagger/Richards and more. The album has been described as “High energy and tough” by Elmore Magazine and has spawned for Conte, a second Coolest Song Of The Year on Little Steven's Underground Garage Radio, the punky, "Somebody's Gonna Get Their Head Kicked In Tonight".

His first "Coolest Song" came in 2014 when Van Zandt picked up on his solo debut, Steve Conte NYC and named the track "OK DJ" the #2 Song Of The Year, just behind Springsteen's #1.

“The 'Steve Conte NYC' album is, without a doubt, one of the best records of the year!”
- Little Steven Van Zandt

In addition to performing live in NYC and around the world, Steve is currently producing music for other artists and doing recording sessions as a studio guitarist & singer.
