The Heavy Howl
The Heavy Howl
"The east village of New York is home to The Heavy Howl. The band was formed by vocalist/guitarist Steven Williams in 2015 after joining forces with bassist Amanda Chessa, an old high school friend, and drummer Joel Frost through the all-too-rare Craigslist success story. Their self-released EP New Mistake, a selection of songs that showcased the groups penchant for catchy ""low rock"", led to the band teaming up with Velvet Elk Records for their follow up single. Recorded at Rivington 66 by Nico Chiotellis (David Waxman, Le Rev), ""Ponderosa"" was released in October 2017.
""Everything we track is live in the studio in two or three takes with as little overdubs as possible"", Williams says, ""we really push for the recordings to be an accurate representation of the energy of our live performances."""
Damn Jackals
Damn Jackals
"With vocals that snarl, beats that kick and a delirious mashing of psych and punk aesthetics Damn Jackals deliver the type of garage rock that riles up crowds." - The Deli Magazine

"There's a certain swagger to the new track “Freezing Blues” by Brooklyn quintet Damn Jackals. Could it be the edgy guitar rhythms and spunky guitar solos? The horn section? Or singer Beau Croxton's self-assured delivery that sounds so classic and rebellious? You can practically see the band decked out in leather jackets, collars up and smoldering like some anti-hero greaser." - MySpace Entertainment

"Equal parts jagged distortion, lush synths, wailing guitars riffs, and Croxton’s fuzzed out vocals. The perfect yin and yang of glossy glam rock and sharp dagger-like post-punk." - The Girls At The Rock Show
Mamma Bear
Mamma Bear
"MammaBear comes from Atlanta, Georgia, but their rainbow roots rock sounds like it has arrived from another dimension where 1996 London has been swapped with Athens, GA" - Eric Davidson, CMJ

"They have a relentless, driving sound that will have you rocking throughout the night" ...."Here’s a young band that isn’t just creating music for the sake of blowing people’s minds and igniting mosh pits, but one wanting to communicate to people that anything can be overcome with a little perseverance." -- Benjamen Yung, The Revue
