Based out of New York City, 4-piece alt-rock band Downaman formed in 2017 around the unforeseen introduction of lead singer Adam Sabh to guitarist Pete Carril. While working at Madison Square Garden the two befriended each other quickly over a common love for bands such as Brand New and Manchester Orchestra. Shortly after Adam found himself at a job at the Barclays Center where he befriended bassist/audio engineer Mike LaTona and the three rigorously began building the foundation of the band.
A year, 4 music videos, and a 15 song catalog later the band still found themselves in the meticulous process of finding the last piece of the puzzle. Instantaneously after meeting drummer Sam Askin the guys knew they found their final roster. Employing a heady blend of anthemic melodies, indie rock influences, and hardcore roots the group released their debut EP ‘Vol. 1’ in March 2018. ‘Vol. 2’ released in May 2018 and revealed a heavier side the group while still holding onto catchy choruses and bright guitar work. The band now brings their work to life playing all around the New york City area.

"Santa Monica, California based indie pop duo Only Bricks are spreading their sun-soaked anthems with a debut EP entitled Foundation, released April 20. Comprised of husband and wife songwriting duo Anne DiGiovanni and Joseph Lewczak, the EP is their entry into the LA songwriting scene.

Foundation is an eclectic and unique collection of rock, pop, and dance, mixed with their own individual and uplifting musical sensibility. Loaded with songs that will inspire joy with bright, multi-faceted melodies, poppy hooks, and lyrics that tell relatable stories of love, desire, and connection, Only Bricks’ Foundation is destined to be the soundtrack to your summer romance.

Since their crowd-electrifying live debut in April at The Peppermint Club in Los Angeles, the new EP is already getting heaped with praise. The blog Musicotfuture says it ""will have you dancing all night."" The blog Thinking Lyrically remarked about the songs’ ""huge, infectious choruses that are perfect for summer!"" Indie Voice Blog hailed ""[t]he sweet vocals of Anne DiGiovanni, combined with the musical genius of her husband, Joseph Lewczak, create music that is a sheer joy to behold, and makes you want to get up and boogie."" LA Music Critic Bob Leggett went so far as to exclaim, ""[t]he new reigning King and Queen of Indie Pop music. Their new release, Foundation, is one of the best of 2018."" Vents Magazine called it the ""perfect California indie pop record."" Substream Magazine exclaimed the lead single, ""Twisted,"" is ""full and rich while still moving and dancing with pop sensibility."" Atwood Magazine raved that the EP’s second single, ""(Your Love Gets Me) High,"" is a ""fuzzy, feel-good and infectiously upbeat single.""

Attention and critical acclaim are not entirely new to the members of Only Bricks. Vocalist Anne DiGiovanni was raised a classical, musical theater, and church musician (piano, violin), while instrumentalist Joseph Lewczak started playing guitar at the age of six. They first combined forces when Joseph’s cover band Generator Honey, a two-time (2013-14) New York Advertising Week Battle of the Ad Bands champion, added Anne’s powerful vocals to match Joseph’s exuberant lead guitar. Each have made their distinctive mark on separate projects: Anne as a veteran of the ASCAP New York Musical Theatre Festival’s Songwriting Workshop and The Bitter End-hosted New York Singer/Songwriter Sessions, and Joseph as one half of the duo Edison & Belle whose seven-song EP, Love Beyond, was hailed by as an ""infectious debut"" with a ""modern, eclectic mix of styles and tone colors."" The duo were also recently recognized with a Top 5 Song (Rock Category) in the 2017 Great American Song Contest for their co-write, ""Over My Head."""
