Nighttime
Nighttime
Nighttime is the haunting and melodic folk of Brooklyn-based artist Eva Louise Goodman. Performances centered around live looping of guitar, violin, ambient noise, and voice craft dense yet elegantly layered soundscapes, suspended somewhere between the droning lull of Grouper and the gauzy melodic pop of Cocteau Twins.
Blaine Todd
Blaine Todd

Colin Langenus
Colin Langenus
Finding the common thread in the vast catalog of Colin Langenus’ musical output is a difficult code to crack, and in the end could be akin to pondering the list of philosophical questions deemed useless to ask. Colin’s main drive seems to be an authentic creative impulse which finds it’s expression in the case of Cut and Dry, as a collection of country-twinged-folk-pop songs, at times with a psychedelic undercurrent. A mutual friend says this album is “like Donald Fagen doin’ Michael Hurley records with J.J. Cale.” Certainly this album seems a distant departure from Colin’s roots in the crusty political freak punk outfit USAISAMONSTER, his many avant-noise CD-R releases, his brutalist minimalist CSC Funkband, and his recent obsession with creating Dub music, but collectively it all makes perfect sense. The unifying force of course is Colin himself, his commitment to quality, his vast interests and appreciation of the multiplicity of ways to create and express. Cut and Dry is a crisp and cohesive recording, created by a new dad and first time father by sharing tracks with friends/collaborators and building an album over two years time, from great distances, from behind the board at his Brooklyn-based Proven Recording Studios.
