Like Herding Cats
Like Herding Cats
Brooklyn-based band Like Herding Cats project a modern and whimsical take on indie pop and new wave drawing influence from post-punk, 80’s alternative rock, shoegaze and indie rock. Comprised of Dom P(lead vocals, guitars, synths), Kevin McAdams(drums, vocals),Tim Jansen(bass, vocals) and Sebastian Briglia(guitar), the band formed October 2014 focussing its attention on delivering live performances of the self produced, self titled EP which was released and written by Dom P. The Record was edited and mixed at Mod Alien Music Studios(guitarist and songwriter for Elefant, Ape Fight, DMT Frequencies) and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side studios(Sufjan Stevens, Beach House, Kurt Vile).

Like Herding Cats have been building buzz since their 2015 debut. The band has performed around New York City and Brooklyn captivating audiences and gaining attention from several blogs and magazines. The Brooklyn quartet has won The Deli Magazine’s “Artist of the month.” Fall of 2015 the band played CMJ and were featured in Secret Sound Shop’s “One of The Top Ten Must See Acts.”

The whirling reverb guitars and pop centric beats have often tied the band to sounding like The Cure and New Order. A collaborative sophomore record is in the works to be released in 2016. Fans can expect a dreamy alternative pop album.

“The mood is gentle and dreamy, like early Depeche Mode, or The Magnetic Fields' Stephin Merritt, with whom the band shares a pensive lightheartedness.”

Her Majesty
Her Majesty
New Wave, Glam, Post-Punk, Indie, Art … herMajesty’s rock music scales thematic preoccupations of love, loss, surrender, chaos, and hope, over a brooding wall of sound. Their proclivities are well-captured on record and pack a wallop in their live performances.Track for track herMajesty communicate complex human emotional experiences and grapple with themes that convey loss, sadness, detachment, and anger.

Their new single “I Saw The Dog,” a collaboration with regional imprint Midday Records, releases on 7” vinyl November 2, 2017. It is a song that draws a connection between unrequited love, dominant-submissive relationships, and current exploitative political systems. It is produced by Grammy-winner Nic Hard and features Henry Hey (keyboard player The Next Day, musical director of Lazarus) and Chris McQueen (guitarist of Lazarus, the Bowie Play and guitarist of Snarky Puppy).

herMajesty consists of JP (vocals, rhythm guitars, programming), David Leatherwood (guitars, backup vocals), Joan Chew (bass, backup vocals), and Konrad Meissner (drums, percussion). Additional percussion is provided by Josh Shusterman.
