André Salvador and the Von Kings
André Salvador and the Von Kings
André Salvador and the Von Kings is the moniker of mysterious singer/songwriter Tim Cheplick, who records all instruments and vocals in his apartment in Brooklyn. His forthcoming debut album, Rock and Roll Springtime, is mixed by Larry Crane (Elliott Smith, She and Him, the Decemberists) and will be released on March 11th. The record has 11 highly melodic original songs based around guitars, tambourines, fuzzy keys, fuzzy bass, some stupid sounds, and the odd witticism. Cheplick also performs throughout NYC, usually with his backing band, and is planning a tour of the Northeast in late March. New music is being being teased out ahead of the release via videos and mp3s on the band's instagram and bandcamp. "Cheplick is penning [Elliott] Smithesque compositions in a way no one else has done before." Anthony Gonzalez for InYourSpeakers
