Golden Driller
Golden Driller
"Golden Driller is the musical project of Bulgarian exile Bogdan Lyubomir, a 65 year old performance artist best known as the former lover and amanuensis of Michele Bernstein, a founding member of the Situationist International. After Lyubomir's 2014 plot to fill the Bulgarian Presidential Palace with petroleum jelly was uncovered by secret police, he was forced to flee the country, eventually settling in Barcelona. However, an assassination attempt in the fall of that year led him to flee again, this time to a place he believed the Bulgarian secret police would never follow him: the mid-sized American city of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Lyubomir quickly talked his way into a job at Tulsa Community College, teaching introductory philosophy courses to witless teenagers and the occasional retiree. After being hit by a city bus at the intersection of Boston and 10th St., Lyubomir won a $5,000 settlement from the Metropolitan Tulsa Transit Authority, which, recalling his fondness for American rock music, as well as an article he had recently read about the power and clarity of new digital recording software, he invested in various recording equipment and a new laptop.

He decided to work under the moniker of Golden Driller, after the bizarre 75-foot-tall statue of an oil worker which stands outside the Tulsa Expo Center. In his one bedroom West Tulsa apartment, he recorded nearly 300 songs over a two year period, before accidentally choking to death on the bottle cap of a 20 oz. Coke Zero. The executor of his estate, a 20 year old art student named Kimberly Tisdale, with whom he was rumored to be romantically involved, has decided to self-release Lyubomir's music over the course of several years, beginning with the EPs ""Pay You Back"" and ""Pay You Back 2"". Tisdale has stated that fans of Golden Driller can expect a full-length album sometime in 2018."
